The local folks here make a living by creating kitchenware and decorative items using local bamboos. Teaming up with the bamboo weavers is a community to hyacinth weavers. These proud artisans spend days and nights creating woven products out of the dried stems of water hyacinth. This is a green aquatic plant that has a slender rootstock kind of stalked leaves widely found along the Mekong River.
